Collector Integrity Statement

Anne Reid Artist portrait

“Every piece, every variant — created with integrity, disclosed with clarity.”

At Anne Reid Artist, every artwork begins with a single inspired vision. Some works remain one-of-a-kind originals. Others may also appear as limited editions, open editions, cropped details, reformatted versions, or digital reworks created by me from my own source material. This page exists to explain those relationships clearly so collectors, designers, and institutions understand exactly what they are acquiring.

Human-Made Proof & Verification

Human-Made Art logo

ArtHelper Human Artist Directory: Anne Reid Artist is listed in the ArtHelper Human Artist Directory, and this website displays the Human-Made Art verification badge as a visible trust signal.

This means the work shown here begins with Anne Reid Artist’s own source material and is created or reworked by Anne personally. Where a work is original, reproduced, adapted, cropped, reformatted, or digitally reworked, that status is disclosed clearly so collectors understand both the source lineage and the method of creation.

  • Original paintings begin as hand-made studio works in paint.
  • Prints and editions derive from Anne Reid Artist’s own artworks, not from outside-generated substitutes.
  • Digital reworks and derived variants are created by Anne from her own source work and labeled accordingly.

Collector Questions, Answered Clearly

Can an original also become a print?
Yes. An original painting may also become a limited edition, open edition, cropped detail, reformatted variation, or digital rework. When that happens, the relationship to the source work is disclosed clearly.

Does that mean the original is duplicated?
No. The original remains the one original physical painting. A print, variation, or digital rework is a separate editioned or reproduced expression derived from that source.

What is a cropped detail?
A cropped detail is a focused section taken from a larger composition and presented as its own finished image. It is always derived from my own source work and should be labeled accordingly.

What is a reformatted version?
A reformatted version is an adaptation of an existing work into a different aspect ratio or spatial format so it can function well in another installation context.

What is an adjusted color version?
An adjusted color version is a work I have personally reworked to harmonize with a different environment, mood, or presentation need. It remains connected to the original source vision, but it is not presented as the untouched original.

What is a digital rework?
A digital rework begins with my own artwork and is then reimagined by me on screen through fresh color, light, movement, or compositional development. It is not the same thing as the original physical painting, and it should be identified as a digital rework or derived work.

Will every version be labeled clearly?
Yes. My commitment is that the status of each work is disclosed clearly: original, limited edition, open edition, cropped detail, reformatted version, adjusted color adaptation, or digital rework.

What remains unique to the original?
The original retains its one-of-a-kind physical surface, scale history, brushwork, material presence, and the full painted life of the piece. No print or digital version replaces that.

Edition Integrity

Originals are one-of-a-kind physical paintings and will never be repeated as another original.

Limited editions are signed, numbered, and include a Certificate of Authenticity.

Open editions may be offered in multiple sizes or finishes, with clear disclosure.

Derived variants such as cropped details, aspect-ratio changes, adjusted palettes, or digital reworks are created by me personally and disclosed as derived from their source work.

Original Physical Painting vs Digital Rework

Feature Original Physical Painting Digital Rework
Creation Method Created by hand in paint on canvas, paper, or panel in my studio. Created by me on screen from my own artwork as a further developed or reimagined work.
Uniqueness There is one original only; it will never be repeated as another original. The digital file may be offered in carefully managed editions or print formats.
Source Born from the first physical making of the piece. Begins with my own source artwork and is then reworked into a distinct derived image.
Physical Presence You see the surface, brushwork, material depth, and paint history in person. You see a high-end printed presentation of the image unless hand-embellishment is specifically disclosed.
Availability Reserved for one collector, church, gallery, institution, or private client. May be offered in selected sizes and materials for broader placement.
Labeling Identified as the original painting, with title, signature, date, and Certificate of Authenticity. Identified as a digital rework or derived work, with clear reference to its source lineage where applicable.
Best Fit Collectors seeking the single artwork that carries the full physical presence and history of the piece. Collectors and designers seeking flexibility in size, finish, budget, or placement while remaining connected to the source work.

Why I Offer Variants

Art lives in real places: homes, hospitality settings, sacred spaces, workplaces, and institutional environments. Variants allow a single inspired source work to serve different rooms, scales, and practical needs without pretending those versions are all the same thing. This approach expands access while protecting collector clarity.

Why This Matters

Collectors deserve to know what is singular, what is derived, how each work is labeled, and whether the source is truly human-made. My aim is not only to make strong art, but to steward it truthfully. That means preserving the uniqueness of originals, disclosing editions and adaptations clearly, and giving buyers language they can trust.
