Open Edition Fine Art Print from the Original Painting. I created David & Samuel 4 to honor mentorship and anointing—so your space carries quiet courage and a blessing over the next generation every day.
David & Samuel 4, print is a vertical 3:4 open-edition fine art print—two abstract figures beneath an arc of light, honoring mentorship and the moment of being set apart. Available on archival paper, canvas, metal (ChromaLuxe), and acrylic with solid-wood box framing and optional mats (2″/3″/4″). Sizes: 9×12, 18×24, 24×32, 30×40, 36×48, 45×60; 48×64 (metal only). Produced by Bay Photo (USA) for gallery-grade color and longevity.
Artwork Statement
Two figures stand within an arc of light—one imparting, one receiving. I painted this as a quiet homage to the moment of calling in 1 Samuel 16. The cool, water-blue ground suggests humility and preparation; the warm crown at the arch hints at oil, favor, and future song. This edition focuses on the intimate exchange: a hand to the shoulder, courage taking root.
Variation & Edition Notes
Edition: Open Edition Fine Art Print.
Presentation: vertical 3:4 aspect for a contemplative, room-friendly read.
Studio finishing: gentle temperature shifts, contrast tuning, and edge cleanup for legibility at print scale.
Color & Mood
Palette: cerulean and turquoise with soft citron light; faint crimson/orange at the arch.
Mood: contemplative, hopeful, invitational.
Viewing: calm negative space with a luminous core that reads across the room.
Design Notes
Subject: mentorship and commissioning—an elder blessing the younger.
Motifs: arc of light (covering), double figure, watery ground, hints of oil and song.
Composition: centered relational focal with generous breathing room for serene display.
Bathroom suitability
Choose Metal or Acrylic for humidity resistance. Framed Paper is fine in dry, well-ventilated rooms under glazing; avoid splash zones.
Where It Works
Studies, mentoring/counseling areas, and contemplative corners.
Entries and living rooms that welcome peace, purpose, and steady leadership.
Framed + matted external size grows by ~+4″ (2″ mat), +6″ (3″), or +8″ (4″) in both dimensions; visible image area decreases by the mat width.
Placement tip: artwork width ≈ 60–75% of the furniture below; center height ~57–60″.
Artist Notes (expanded)
This image began as a study of a hand-to-shoulder gesture—the simplest picture of blessing I know. In quick sketches that touch set the rhythm; on canvas I kept the ground cool and breathable so humility stayed in the read. My intent was a room-sized whisper: presence passed on, not performed.
I built the field with thin cerulean and turquoise glazes, lifting small passages to open light. The warm “arch of blessing” came late—scumbled, honeyed layers that sit on top like oil, a signal without shouting. A few crisp, calligraphic seams hold the eye where the hands would rest. The vertical 3:4 frame lets the exchange stand, quiet and centered.
In the broader arc of my work, David & Samuel belongs with paintings about lineage, song, and calling—works where courage is given, not seized. In studies, mentorship spaces, or living areas it brings a steady axis of light to gather around.
Archival inks and premium substrates for long-term color stability.
Handle with clean, dry hands; avoid prolonged direct sunlight and high heat.
Metal/Acrylic: wipe with a soft, slightly damp non-ammonia cloth; Paper/Canvas: dust with microfiber only.
